AI School Leadership Minute: Teacher Pain Points to Targeted PD
Here is how you can use AI to:
1) Write survey questions that get useful answers
2) Analyze the survey results to plan better PD sessions

Step 1 - Craft the Right Questions
Open ChatGPT and use this prompt:
"Act as a K–12 principal. Draft a 5-question anonymous staff check-in to reveal the biggest friction points teachers face right now. It could be instruction, student behavior, parent communication, or time management. Keep questions focused on what’s slowing down student growth this week."

Copy the questions, paste them into a quick Google Form, and share with staff.

Step 2 - Turn Responses into PD Sessions
Once staff respond, download their answers. Then, open ChatGPT and upload the file. After the upload, paste and use the following prompt to analyze the responses:
"Act as a school improvement coach. Analyze the attached teacher check-in responses. Identify the top 3 barriers teachers flagged. For each one, propose a 30-minute micro-PD session we can offer at our next PD day. Include a clear objective and one plug-and-play resource (video, tool, or example).”

If you're not sure how to analyze data with ChatGPT (like mentioned in step 2 above), watch this video tutorial for a quick walkthrough.

Save this to come back to when you are preparing for a PD day.
